Description
Perched 5,575 feet above Badwater Basin, Dante’s View is often hailed as the pinnacle of panoramic vistas in Death Valley. Despite its reputation, capturing this expansive scene is a formidable photographic challenge, demanding clear weather to truly do it justice. Straying from the conventional, I ventured down a community trail to create a distinct perspective—a 400 megapixel panorama looking almost straight down at the close of the day. The image captures the last rays of sunlight illuminating the rocky terrain and desert vegetation in the foreground, with the vast salt flats of Badwater stretching into the distance. A winding road carves through the basin, serving as a striking leading line. Though the immense scale of this photo is challenging to convey online, in its full resolution, one can discern dozens of people traversing from the lowest point in North America out towards the center of the flats.”
