Description
Reflection Lakes is an iconic location in Mount Rainier National Park, and for good reason! The lake is surrounded by sub-alpine meadows with stunning views of the 14,411-foot active stratovolcano. However, it’s not every day you can see this stunning view. Many days in the summer (the only time Stevens Canyon Road is open), the mountain is obscured by clouds. It took several trips at both sunrise and sunset before we had a clear, still day to see this amazing sight.
On our fourth attempt, our patience was rewarded. Not only was the “mountain out,” but the morning was dead calm, giving us a perfect reflection as well as a hint of early morning fog on the water.
