Description
The weather at Bandon Beach had been unsettled all day, with clouds, rain, and very little reason to expect much of a sunset. As evening approached, the wind picked up as well, making the beach itself feel less promising for the kind of composition I was hoping to create.
Instead, I stayed high on the bluffs above the beach and worked with the view looking out across the sea stacks. From there, the layers of rock, surf, and distant coastline came together under the heavy sky. Just as the sun dropped lower, a soft band of color appeared along the horizon, adding a quiet warmth to an otherwise cool and stormy Oregon Coast scene.
