Description
This photograph was captured later in the morning as the first usable sunrise light began to reach the water below Heceta Head Lighthouse. After hours of muted skies, the light finally broke through just enough to illuminate the surface of the ocean without losing its softness.
As the wave rose and began to break, warm tones appeared in the calmer water, reflecting subtle reds from the sky above. The contrast between the moving surf and the smoother, reflective areas of the ocean creates a quiet balance between motion and calm.
It’s a fleeting transition when light is present but not yet harsh 
making moments like this easy to miss and impossible to repeat in exactly the same way.
