Description
With its tide pools, massive sandstone cliffs, dunes, and Chief Kiawanda Rock, I was drawn to Cape Kiwanda for sunset. We spent two nights in a row here, exploring, hiking, and enjoying the sunset atop the slippery rocks of the tide pools. This is truly the embodiment of the Pacific Northwest coastline.
On this early winter day, the sunset positioned itself between the rock and the cliffs (at least from my well-chosen vantage point). Just before the sun fell below the horizon, I was able to capture this sun star along with its warm light reaching the rocks around me.
