Mesa Arch Sunrise

Description

This is Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park. It is an iconic location, and while many people visit here it is very hard to get an amazing photo. I went back day after day, each day arriving hours before sunrise waiting for the right conditions. Outside of the perfect conditions you must also contend with the crowds of people who show up just before sunrise to see this breathtaking sight.

I arrived early each day, a good two hours before sunrise to claim the best spot. On my last trip I was rewarded with the long awaited perfect conditions and this amazing photo. The glowing row and the amazing sky make this a truly special photo.
