We rented a 4×4 Bronco to explore some of the backcountry around Moab, and one of the places we stopped was Gemini Bridges. From this single image, it is hard to see that this formation is actually a pair of natural bridges sitting side by side, carved into the red sandstone above the canyon below.
I came back later in the day, when the light was lower and beginning to glow beneath the bridge. The sky had turned deep blue with large clouds moving overhead, giving the scene a quiet but dramatic feeling. We were alone here, surrounded by open desert, sandstone, and sky – and Storm Light at Gemini Bridges captures that sense of wild, empty space that makes the Utah backcountry so memorable.
