Description
When visiting Acadia in early fall, everyone thinks of the wonderful colors that come out in the forests and the mountains. However, I could not resist the temptation of the beach in the early mornings. Acadia National Park has some of the loveliest coastline on the East Coast, and catching a sunrise here is a not-to-be-missed opportunity.
The Park Loop Road takes you around to many well-known attractions. I spent some time the day before exploring my options and hiked atop the rocky cliffs in the pitch black of pre-dawn before I found this spot. Here, the first rays of light touch the United States each morning, lighting up the tall granite cliffs. The clouds on this morning were soft and glowed red just as the sun breached the horizon.
