Description
Thunder Hole is an icon of Acadia, where waves crash into the Maine coast, creating a thunderous roar and sending water exploding high into the air. Standing on the rocks at Thunder Hole, you can see Sand Beach, the Otter Cliffs, and the Schoodic Peninsula. However, on this morning, we did not have giant waves crashing into Thunder Hole. Instead, we had a still and calm ocean. The rain had just stopped, and as the sun rose, it filled the sky and clouds with color, turning the cool rocks a warm red. Of all the sunrises we have experienced, this was one of the most peaceful.
