Description
Near the highest point of the Going-to-the-Sun Road, you’ll find the Logan Pass Visitors Center. This is the starting point for the 5.4-mile trail that leads to Hidden Lake in Glacier National Park. It’s hard to get here without stopping because the views along the way are simply stunning. After what seems like 2 miles of hiking straight up a mountain through alpine meadows, known as the Hanging Gardens, Bearhat Mountain in all its glory comes into sight.
My time in Glacier was full of frustration with massive amounts of smoke from wildfires. This was the first (and only) night where it was mostly clear, and we could see past a few hundred yards. Everything aligned to create this 895-megapixel VAST image. While there were no clouds, we had amazing light hitting the valley and Bearhat Mountain. As the sun set, the sky gained an amazing color, and a quick blend together created this stunning VAST image.
