Description
After being chased out of Pola Island Beach by a higher-than-expected tide at sunrise, I found this view while hiking back from the beach. The weather was still unsettled, with a mix of rain, low clouds, and soft morning light just starting to break through. The coastline felt wild and alive, and the palm fronds in the foreground gave the scene a strong sense of place.
The ocean that morning was anything but calm. Waves were pushing into the rocks and shoreline with real force, and the longer exposure helped turn that motion into something more expressive. It softened the water without removing the energy of the scene, giving the photograph the same feeling I had standing there: a beautiful, stormy, slightly angry South Pacific morning.
