Description
The Resurrection River winds its way for 22 miles through the picturesque Kenai Peninsula before gracefully meeting Resurrection Bay near Seward, Alaska. A significant portion of this river graces the Kenai Fjords National Park, and it was here that I encountered what I would confidently call my most cherished moment during our Alaskan adventure.
While parked alongside the river, I stumbled upon an ancient, long-forgotten bridge. My journey led me to the river’s heart, where I embarked on a precarious descent to a rocky outcrop, crafting this photograph. The spectacle that unfolded before me was nothing short of awe-inspiring: the river surged vigorously just inches away, ominous storm clouds loomed to my left, and a blanket of low-lying clouds gently shrouded the water. The sun, emerging from the right, cast a warm, ethereal glow upon the clouds and the trees, as if nature itself was painting a masterpiece for me to capture. This fleeting moment of perfect lighting lasted only a brief minute or two, before the sky was completely obscured by clouds, leaving behind only a memory of that magical scene.
