I’ve been to Merriman Falls in the Quinault Rain Forest many times, but this was my first visit on the edge of winter. The water flow was much lower than in previous visits, but as always, it was never disappointing. The green moss stood out in stark contrast to the dark, wet rocks on this day.
This simple composition features the main waterfall in the background, with water flowing towards the camera down a series of smaller falls. The scene is beautifully framed by a massive fallen tree that stretches across the entire frame, adding to the natural charm of Merriman Falls.
