Description
Rain and passing storms had been moving through the Oregon Coast all day, and I was not sure there would be much of a sunset at Bandon Beach. But as the sun reached the horizon, a small break opened in the clouds and filled the edge of the sky with warm yellow and red light.
I composed these two massive sea stacks directly in front of that color, with the ocean waves racing toward the beach in the foreground. The result captures the feeling of that stormy evening: dark clouds overhead, moving water below, and just enough light breaking through to bring the whole scene together.
