Description
I was not sure there would be much sunset color on this evening, so I had started thinking more about dark, moody beach compositions. The sky was heavy and stormy, and Bandon Beach already had that dramatic Oregon Coast feeling even before the light arrived.
Then, just as the sun reached the horizon over the Pacific Ocean, it broke through a narrow gap in the clouds. That last light reflected across the wet sand as the water rushed toward me, while the sea stacks scattered through the scene added layers of depth from the foreground all the way out to the horizon. It became the best of both worlds: a moody coastal scene with just enough warm sunset light to bring it to life.
