Description
Hiking out to Saint Mary’s Falls just after dawn can be a magnificent and peaceful experience, as it’s likely you will have the trail and the entire open wilderness to yourself. The walk to the falls leads you through an old (and burned) forest that is now alive with wildflowers and views of distant lakes and mountains. The falls in the early morning light are truly something to behold. In the spring and early summer, the flow is so strong that the sound becomes all-encompassing. The blue and teal water creates a unique contrast against the rocks and the green, glowing moss.
