Description
Saguaros, renowned for their longevity, eventually meet their end. Often, before collapsing, their flesh decomposes, leaving only the ‘ribs,’ the woody framework that gives the saguaro its shape. Native Americans traditionally used these saguaro ribs to construct roofs, walls, and other essential structures.
In this photo, we see a lone saguaro skeleton at sunset, bathed in warm hues of yellow and red that light up the desert landscape. Nearby, a young saguaro is sprouting, a testament to the cycle of life that continues even in the midst of decay.
