Pfeiffer Beach Sunset – Big Sur

A more secluded area of Big Sur, Pfeiffer Beach offers stunning beauty. Known for its violet-hued sand, massive sea stacks, rock formations, caves and dunes. After exploring the area I opted for the less common view from atop of the dunes. Many photos are taken down below, looking through the largest of the sea stacks. I found the view from the top of the dune to be more representative of Big Sur.

I wanted to express the experience you have at sunset, with the almost endless beach in front of you. The ocean and golden light hitting the rocks in the water. I had to come here a few times to get the conditions just right for this capture.
