Description
This close up of the lighthouse marker at Nakalele Blowhole focuses on the weathering itself rust, cracks, and fading paint. I framed the checkerboard panels with equal spacing to emphasize their geometry while letting the stormy sky fill the background.
Where the wider view speaks to endurance against the landscape, this tighter composition is more about time’s toll how salt, wind, and rain etch themselves into the surface of everything left along the Maui coast.
This photograph is part of my Nakalele Lighthouse Marker Pair, which highlights the weathered navigation marker above Maui’s rugged coast. Together, the two images reveal both the broader setting and the intricate textures shaped by decades of salt, wind, and storms. Weathered Lighthouse Marker at Nakalele Blowhole
