Description
This triptych was created along the coastline of Lipoa Ridge on Maui, an idea that had been on my mind for nearly five years before finally coming together. I had tried versions of this in other places, but it was here that everything aligned the light, the tide, and the mood of the ocean.
Each of the three frames captures a slightly different moment as the waves washed in and retreated across the shoreline rocks. No two patterns are the same, and that unpredictability is what makes this work so compelling. The textures shift between soft foam and dark stone, while the blue tones of the Pacific bring a sense of calm energy.
This image is less about one decisive moment and more about rhythm and continuity the endless ebb and flow of the sea. It’s a more abstract, artistic piece compared to much of my landscape work, but one that feels deeply tied to the heartbeat of Hawaii’s shores.
