Description
Within Brooklyn Bridge Park lies a treasure of a photography location. The remains of an old Pier 1 lead your eyes right into one of the most iconic skylines in the world. Although the old pier may be long gone, the entire DUMBO area has recently been completely revitalized. This is the ideal location to watch the sun go down over lower Manhattan, with views of Wall Street and some of the most famous buildings, including One World Trade Center.
I was very lucky when I captured this image; you have to have all the elements line up for you: clouds, sky, sun, light, building lights, water conditions, getting the right spot in a crowded area, and no boats! I’ve been to this spot many times, and each attempt I take hundreds of photos, hoping to later create what I envision. This image is the result of that vision, perfectly capturing the city.
As a side note, if you venture down to this park, I strongly recommend grabbing a slice of pizza at Grimaldi’s.
