Description
Even though I have been to Seattle dozens of times, this was my first visit to Gas Works Park. It happened to be the first really nice spring day, and the park was packed with people, which made finding enough space for a clean composition more challenging than expected.
This image is a multi-row panorama, built from multiple photographs into an almost 300-megapixel final image. That level of detail is hard to appreciate on the web, but it allows the skyline to hold up beautifully as a large print. Taken about twenty minutes before sunset, the sun was dropping behind the hills around me and casting its last warm light across the tops of the buildings. From this view, the major landmarks of the Seattle skyline can be seen across Elliott Bay, including downtown Seattle and the Space Needle.
