Description
Fog has a way of testing a photographer’s patience and on this morning at Kabetogama Lake, it did exactly that. The fog would roll in thick and silent, erasing the horizon, then lift just long enough to reveal pieces of the landscape before swallowing it again.
I spent the morning searching for anything to photograph, moving between the rocky shoreline and the water’s edge near the Ash River area. Each brief clearing felt like a gift. When the mist finally opened for a few minutes, this small pine covered islet appeared through the haze. The soft blue light before sunrise gave it an ethereal calm that lasted only moments before everything vanished back into white.
Not long after this frame, the fog thickened again and visibility dropped to nothing. The photo session was over, but the fleeting nature of that stillness the mix of uncertainty and quiet beauty made it one of the most memorable mornings of the trip.
