Description
This photograph was captured from a bluff above Seal Rock while waiting for sunset, with the same quiet patience as the previous scene. As the evening approached, it became clear that a massive storm was moving in from the right, slowly overtaking the coastline and reshaping the light.
On the left side of the frame, the final moments of sunset break through 
warm yellow light reflecting across the water and illuminating the ocean’s surface. As the eye moves right, that warmth gives way to darker blue tones, rougher water, and towering storm clouds pushing in from offshore.
Bands of rain can be seen falling from the clouds into the ocean, marking the boundary where calm transitions into weather. Even the sea stacks in the foreground hold onto the last traces of reflected light, their wet surfaces catching the final glow before the storm fully takes over.
It’s a moment defined not by what arrived, but by what was about to disappear.
