Description
On a day full of smoke from nearby western wildfires, we made the long drive to the southeast corner of Glacier National Park to the Two Medicine Valley. The wonderful part about visiting this area, other than the insane beauty, is that there are far fewer visitors. It’s a rather long drive from the start of the Going-to-the-Sun Road and the Apgar area. However, for those willing to make the trek, you are rewarded with an extraordinary area featuring lakes, mountains, meadows, and all the splendor that Glacier has to offer.
The day was filled with storm clouds and, of course, smoke, so we spent some hours exploring the lake area, hiking around, and enjoying the views. For sunset, I set up right on the lake shore and hoped for good lighting. I was rewarded with stunning rays of light piercing through the clouds. The smoke turned into a wonderful color and added drama to this scene.
