Canyon Overlook Sunrise

We’ve trekked the Canyon Overlook trail countless times, making it our go-to spot in any National Park. Watching the sunrise here is an experience like no other. Though the ascent in darkness offers little to see, the journey back rewards with breathtaking views of Pine Creek and the vast canyon below.

At the trail’s end awaits a truly awe-inspiring sight. Dominating the frame is the Tower of the Virgin, a majestic presence amidst the towering sandstone monoliths that grace Zion Canyon’s western expanse. This scene unfolds with snow-clad peaks such as The Sundial, The Witch Head, Broken Tooth, Rotten Tooth, Altar of Sacrifice, Bee Hive, and The Sentinel, each casting a unique silhouette against the dawning sky.
