Description
Capturing this panoramic view of the bamboo forest along the Pipiwai Trail was a stroke of luck, with the partly cloudy sky providing just the right amount of light. Setting up my tripod amidst the dense forest, I patiently waited for brief moments of illumination. I particularly love how the light gently filters down into the expansive scene, creating a sense of depth and chaos within the forest.
The Pipiwai Trail, nestled within Haleakalā National Park, lies beyond the town of Hana, requiring a few hours’ drive to reach. Yet, the journey along the renowned Road to Hana is an adventure in itself. Along the four-mile trail, you’ll encounter enchanting waterfalls such as Makanhiku and Waimoku Falls, each surrounded by picturesque pools of water. At the trail’s pinnacle awaits the Infinity Pool, offering a serene escape. Along the way, you’ll also encounter a colossal banyan tree and traverse small metal bridges over the river, adding to the trail’s allure and charm.
