Description
The Towers of the Virgin, a striking collection of peaks in Zion National Park, is a classic spot for sunrise photography, offering expansive views of the West Temple, the Sundial, and the Altar of Sacrifice. However, on this day, with storm clouds lingering, I decided to capture the scene later in the afternoon. The winter storm was dispersing, but I knew it would return later, so I had to work quickly as I made my way back into the valley.
As I set up my camera, the shifting light and moving clouds transformed the landscape minute by minute. My goal was to create a sweeping panorama that encompassed the entire valley, showcasing all the iconic peaks. Some areas remained in shadow, while others basked in the afternoon sun. The clouds had just lifted from the mountain tops, revealing a fresh dusting of snow, adding a dramatic touch to this ever-changing scene.
