Description
This is a very different kind of landscape from what I capture at most National Parks. Hot Springs National Park is unique, protecting both the forests and the historic downtown area, including a row of eight original bathhouses. While we explored the entire park, I found myself drawn to the row of these amazing structures.
Buckstaff Bathhouse is the only remaining functional bathhouse in Hot Springs National Park. This impressive building has been offering baths for well over 100 years and is on the National Register of Historic Places. On the morning of this photo, it had just rained, and storms were still rolling in. I spent the pre-dawn hours walking alone up and down the row of buildings. I love the shape, feel, and architecture of this building and was able to create this image right before the storm started up again.
