Description
The Longfellow Bridge connects Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood with Kendall Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Sometimes known as the Salt-and-Pepper Bridge due to its distinctive shape, it spans the Charles River. First opened in 1906 (replacing earlier bridges dating back to 1793), it is a well-known icon in the Bay State.
This winter sunset captures the Charles River half-covered in ice, with the glowing blue lights under the bridge and a fiery sky just on the horizon over Cambridge. The brilliant yellow and red colors give way to a soft blue sky. This unique time blend, captured throughout sunset and the blue hour, shows details as if you were standing there.
